“I was named after your sister”

That’s what Hadas said to the Fogel brothers, who survived the massacre that killed their parents and three siblings in 2001.
The Fogel massacre was a brutal terror attack that took place on March 11, 2011, in the Israeli community of Itamar. Five members of the Fogel family—parents Udi and Ruth, and their children Yoav (11), Elad (4), and Hadas (3 months)—were murdered in their home while they slept.
The attack shocked Israel and the Jewish world, becoming a stark symbol of the vulnerability of civilians and the devastating human cost of terrorism. The memory of the Fogel family continues to be honored as a reminder of innocence lost and the ongoing need to stand against hatred and violence.
Three siblings survived: brothers Roey and Yishai and their older sister Tamar.
Last night, in Boca Raton, something special happened.
A girl walked up to them and softly said, “I’m named after your sister.” She was born right after that night that shook the Jewish world.
Different places, but one unbreakable connection.
Am Yisrael Chai!
